The term "polo" derives from the original shirt used by polo players, made of cotton with a button-down collar and long sleeves, known as a polo-shirt. However, the modern polo shirt as we know it today can be attributed to René Lacoste, a famous French tennis player of the 1920s, nicknamed "the Crocodile" for his tenacity on the court. It is this image of the crocodile that has become the iconic logo of the Lacoste brand.
Before Lacoste's innovation, tennis players wore long-sleeved shirts with stiff collars, which were not particularly comfortable or practical for the game. In 1926, Lacoste created a short-sleeved shirt with a soft collar that could be raised to protect the neck from the sun. The shirt was made of cotton piqué, a lightweight and breathable fabric.
Lacoste began producing these shirts on a large scale starting in 1933, and since then, they have become popular not only in tennis but also in casual fashion in general. Today, polo shirts have become a fundamental component of both men's and women's wardrobes, known for their simplicity, comfort, and versatility as they can be worn for various occasions and purposes.
Mason's polo shirts are the natural and trendy booster of the Spring/Summer collection and are presented in the same patterns and treatments as the trousers, creating true summer suits that set trends.
Mason's has created two types of men's polo shirt models that can be paired with all the items in the collection:
Men's t-shirts are an essential and versatile clothing item that adapts to various occasions. They are appreciated for their comfort and practicality while offering a touch of casual and informal style.
In general, t-shirts are designed without a collar and with short sleeves, allowing for optimal freedom of movement. The fit of t-shirts varies from slim fit models that follow the body's lines to looser styles for a more relaxed look. In terms of comfort, men's t-shirts are made from lightweight and breathable fabrics such as cotton or cotton blends, providing freshness and a pleasant sensation on the skin. These materials also ensure durability, maintaining shape and color even after numerous washes.
The limited edition Logo M t-shirt from Mason's men's collection is made with an eco-friendly tie-dye treatment. It features short sleeves, the brand's logo patch, buttons in a different color, and contrasting fabric on the back collar. It pairs perfectly with the jersey Bermuda shorts in the same color and treatment, creating a perfect mix of style and comfort with trendy pastel tones, ideal for leisure time.
